MUSU Manchester has been open for almost a year, with the multi-million pound refit of the site previously used by Randall and Aubin, still drawing in a crowd.
The Japanese inspired restaurant has just launched its latest ‘Winter – Savour The Season Menu’ ready for Christmas. It will be available from the 29th November until the 23rd December, perfect for catching up with family, loved ones or colleagues, over the winter period. Sentaku, is an A la Carte menu, with Sentaku meaning ‘Your Choice’.
The Christmas Menu consists of 3 courses for £55 and can be paired with some fabulous winter cocktails or a choice of wines.
The Japanese influence runs throughout the menu and we were invited down to see just how good they were.
First up for starters, we had the Yakitori and Sashimi.

The Yakitori skewers were rich and delicious, with an umami goodness running through.

Meanwhile my Sashimi was delicate and mouthwatering, with the quality of the produce really showing.
The 3rd choice for starter, that we didn’t try, was the Chawanmushi, a kind of savoury custard Japanese style, which I know many people were raving about.

For main I went for the Salt Aged Duck with teriyaki and sesame pak choi. The duck was perfectly cooked and so tender, with again umami flavours inviting you return to the plate again and again.

Our second main was a beef dish served on a creamy celeriac and a rich beef dashi.
Halibut was the 3rd choice main, which again we didn’t try on this occasion, but it looked inviting all the same.

Desserts came in the options of: Pear with honeycomb, goats cheese and suntori whiskey caramel, a salted white chocolate with almond, soya milk crisp and crumble, or a Sudachi, a meringue with blackberry.

I chose the Salted White Chocolate dish, which is also one of their signature dishes, which ended the meal perfectly. It was light and delicate and made me ready to leave happy.
With a number of choice on the Christmas Menu, there is something for everyone and if I am honest, all equally as standout and at £55, such incredible value for money!
