It was agreed, Sunday afternoon was the time set aside to catch the new Star Wars Film, and when someone suggested watching it at The Lowry, I immediately took the opportunity to try out the newly opened CAU Media City.
Having already heard great things about the restaurants in Liverpool and Didsbury, this was one that I just had to try.
On arrival, we were greeted by the happy and smiley Emma, who showed us to our table.
The décor was stunning and gave the restaurant a real upmarket feel.
The starter really set the bar, a hummus with homemade aubergine caviar, chilli and nuts was amazing, to be honest I didn’t want to share this at all.
Being a Sunday afternoon, I opted to try out the Sunday Roast (Which was also highly recommended by our server Avril ).
Crispy Roast Potatoes, Tasty Onion Rings and the most amazing Roast Beef served pink as it should be. If I had to pick at anything, the red wine gravy, although tasty, was far to thin, but that is rerally nit picking.
My partner choose the burger, which unbelievably she actually finished. I did grab a small piece and once again was magnificent.
I was too stuffed to try dessert, however my partner quickly ordered a chocolate brownie, topped with oozing toasted marshmallows, I would have posted a picture, but she ate it too quickly.. says it all.
Overall I highly recommended Sunday Lunch time feed.. Maybe I should have taken the tram so I could have enjoyed a little more of their great wine collection too.
