With glimpses of the summer starting to show through in the weather, its time to start thinking about all the amazing events that Manchester throws up during this period.
One of the highlights for me is Festa Italiana – the ‘Everything Italian’ festival that is organised by Salvis owner Maurizio Cecco.
This years festival will take place over the weekend of 26-28th July, with a whole host of activities taking place.
As well as cooking classes with Gennaro Contaldo or a Pasta Making Class with Carmela Sereno Heyes, the organisers have now announced the first ever Suburbia meets City Banquet, hosted by Jonathan Schofield on Saturday 27th July.
The event will feature Maurizio himself as well as Tre Ciccio’s Fran Scafuri, to create a truly spectacular Neapolitan banquet.
With both of them hailing from around Naples, which is part of the Campania region of Italy, renowned for producing some of the finest foods (Hence why I’m off there myself in a few weeks time), you can be sure that the banquet will be showcasing only the best of the region.
The chefs will create two dishes each, to create a four dish sensation. In addition to the food, there will be Neapolitan music, from a band flown over from Naples for the event.
Tickets for the event cost just £50 are are available here.
