Gilpin Hotel & Lake House near Windermere in the Lake District has developed a new Cumbrian afternoon tea making it the ideal spot to celebrate Mother’s Day. 

A gorgeous treat for much-loved mums this March, the afternoon tea indulges guests with the best that the Lake District has to offer – both on and offer the plate. Served in the elegant surroundings of Gilpin Lake House, the dining room is the perfect place to spend an afternoon, indulging in the teatime tradition whilst sitting back, relaxing and relishing the breathtaking views over the private tarn and tranquil gardens.

Tuck into freshly made finger sandwiches with fillings of locally-sourced produce, home-made savouries, scones and a selection of indulgent sweet treats, accompanied by local and special teas or coffee. For a little extra, guests can make their afternoon tea even more special with a glass of prosecco or Champagne. 

Afternoon tea costs from £30 per person and is served daily between 13:30 – 15:30, subject to availability.
