Nestled in the verdant hills and picturesque surroundings of Mellor in the heart of the Ribble Valley, is a special place. A tranquil space where a person’s every need is taken care of. Where it’s okay to stop, breathe, rest and do as much or as little as desired. In fact, if all you want to do is light the fire and get back into bed for the day, that’s actively encouraged.

Everything Retreat, a new adult-only collection of luxury lodges, has officially launched this December and a warm welcome awaits for those in search of a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

Formed of 12 exquisitely designed lodges, Everything Retreat is made up of the Signature Collection – six identical lodges that form a haven of tranquillity for guests, and the Unique Collection – each lodge with a beautifully thought-out and stylishly designed theme carried through the entire space.

The accommodation at Everything Retreat is the very definition of luxury.

Every lodge has been designed with rest and relaxation in mind.  Each has a private hot tub, woodburning stove and a supremely comfortable, king-size bed with bespoke-made mattresses as standard.  Everything is made with love, care and attention to detail, with interior design and bespoke-made products by local producers incorporated throughout the space.

As well as stunning surroundings, the property puts unrivalled hospitality and guest experience at the top of its agenda, with a concierge service to deliver on every guest’s individual requirements, no matter how unique.

It is the attention to detail that sets this property apart…

What to expect…

All of the lodges sleep two people in a king-size bed, with mattresses that were especially commissioned by owner Louise, who suffered for years with back pain, until she found a local supplier that made mattress so comfortable, they solved her problems. A good night’s sleep is paramount at Everything Retreat.

Self-catering facilities in each lodge include kitchenette complete with Nespresso coffee machine, combi oven, integrated fridge, induction hob (upon request) and a dining area/breakfast bar. The lodges are fully stocked with all the utensils, crockery and glassware needed to enjoy a stay that feels just like home.

As well as self-catering amenities there is also the option for your stay to be serviced with a delicious breakfast hamper delivered to your door. The housekeeping service is on hand to keep things clean and tidy.

Luxurious finishing touches are included throughout. Underfloor heating provides warmth and comfort, a smart TV with streaming services allows guests to hunker down and binge-watch until their heart’s desire. The private bathroom with shower has a heated towel rail, with luxury towels and linens, plus toiletries supplied by Bath House – another locally made brand.

Free Wi-Fi and sockets near the bed come as standard, with hairdryer, wardrobe and luxury bathrobes also included for all.

Outside each lodge has a private hot tub and seating area with outdoor furniture for guests to enjoy the views in comfort.

Everything Retreat is dog-friendly allowing one small, well-behaved dog per lodge. There is free onsite parking for all guests.

The newly opened onsite bar is a place for guests to relax and unwind serving snacks and charcuterie boards. The space has an onsite kitchen and Louise has curated partnerships with local businesses who will bring a wealth of bespoke catering options from fine dining or ultra-healthy soups, smoothies and salads. More details on dining options will be released in the near future, including the facility to order dinner to your lodge in partnership with local chefs.

In the meantime, there are a wealth of pubs, restaurants and fine dining establishments within the local area, for which the Everything Concierge will be delighted to make recommendations and bookings.

Plans for introducing health and wellness activities to the site are well underway. A versatile, new wellness space has just opened its doors to the public where activities such as yoga, Pilates and meditation will be available toguests, with treatment facilities under development.

The Lodges…

The Signature Collection – made up of six identical lodges designed for privacy and relaxation. Decorated with natural textures and calming colourways, with open plan living spaces and full-length glass windows to bring natural light in abundance, making the most of the spectacular views across the Ribble Valley.

The Unique Collection – guests are encouraged to find a unique space that celebrates individuality, where the smallest of details brings a chosen theme to life.

Bothy – Everything Retreat’s Highlands themed space pairs darkly decadent interior inspiration with rich colourways, metallic and jewel tones. Tartan touches, oak flooring, cosy furs and of course a log fire add to the atmosphere. The perfect place to snuggle down and hibernate this winter.

Byre – A sense of cosy nostalgia is achieved within this lodge through thick rustic wood, rich velvet accents, calming green hues and delicate country patterns.  Sit back and enjoy the spectacular views from a private paradise.

Koya – If dark and dramatic interior design combined with zen-inducing simplicity sound more appealing, then choose Koya. An inviting four-poster bed takes centre stage against stunning near-black walls while pale oak, gold- flecked soft furnishings, and luxurious lacquered accessories provide visual contrast. Settle back in the Japanese-inspired surroundings or sit in Koya’s private zen garden to watch the sunset.

Hütte – Everything Retreat’s ski lodge is the concept of hygge brought to life, enveloping guests in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Inspired by chalets of the French Alps it features wood panelling, cosy fur throws, soothing green and grey colourways and a delightfully cosy upholstered king-size bed.

Itambé – The African themed lodge offers an unforgettable experience in a natural setting, enriched with luxurious wooden textures and traditional tribal prints. This lodge encompasses contemporary décor with no limit on luxury.

Skála – Clean, crisp yet cosy minimalism is offered by the Scandi lodge at Everything Retreat.  Soft blankets, natural fibres, crisp white walls and pale parquet flooring combine for a room that celebrates Scandinavian charm.

Which will you choose…?

A Ribble Valley Wellness Retreat

Everything Retreat is the brainchild of businesswoman Louise Monk, who has resided in the Ribble Valley for her entire life, meaning she knows how just how restorative the clean air and time in nature can be. Louise currently lives in her family’s farmhouse just a stone’s throw away from her new venture.

Talking of her vision for the property, Louise said:

“When you wake each morning and open your doors to see nothing but green countryside and sheep grazing on the dew-covered fields you can’t help but relax.

“We’re here to give people permission to stop, sleep, disconnect, reconnect, hibernate, take it slow – whatever you need to do at that time. The hustle and bustle of city life is great, but personally as soon as I start to see green fields and breathe the fresh air from this part of the world, I can feel the stress begin to melt away. That’s something I wanted to bring to as many people as possible, so when the opportunity arose to create a retreat in these stunning surroundings, where it’s okay to just ‘be’, I knew this is what I had to do.”

Service levels are also hugely important to Louise, who has ensured that as well as stunning design, the onsite Everything Concierge is on hand for all guests to ensure they make the most of their stay.

“We wanted to create a place where a guest’s every need is taken care of, and nothing is too much to ask, she summarises. “I’m very proud of what we’ve created, not just the facilities and the lodges, but the service levels too. We go above and beyond to make every guest feel special, and we want them to know we are here to help them with any request, no matter how unique. Creating this place has been a labour of love and I hope that translates into every guest feeling at home here.”

Exciting Future Plans at Everything Retreat…

There are lots of plans in the pipeline for the property, which include but are not limited to the opportunities outlined below.

  • Planning permission has been given to completely overhaul the house located at the entrance to the property, which will be transformed into six-bedroomed private-hire, luxury accommodation complete with sunken hot tub pool.
  • The Stables situated next to the bar and wellness space has been granted planning permission to be converted into a series of treatment rooms, with work due to start in early 2023.
  • The field at the bottom of the property will be used to house livestock with a dog-walking path being laid around the perimeter so that all guests (furry or otherwise) can fully enjoy the stunning views.
  • Louise is committed to forming partnerships and supporting local businesses with more to be announced in the coming months.
