There has been a buzz in town for some while, with the anticipated arrival of Grafene a restaurant that gets it name from the worlds first 2D Material Graphene, that was first isolated at Manchester University.
The restuarant is the newest venture from Loosehill House Hotel and Spa owners Paul and Kathryn, keen to replicate their success in the centre of Manchester, offering an exciting Modern British Menu that changes on a regular basis, and uses Non GM, locally or artisan sourced ingrediants.
I couldn’t wait to try it out, so was there for its soft launch along with a small number of other keen locals.
The service was impeccible, especially considering this was the first night many of the staff had ever served.
I started with the Crispy Lamb Breast with Saffron Yoghurt, Spinich and Crisped Aubergene, the flavours all worked well and was a delight to eat.
Main choice was Salt Aged Ribye, cooked to perfection, served with a gorgous Ox Cheek and Potato Terrine, a tasty Smoked Wensleydale Custard and onion puree.
I was that impressed by the menu, I did something I rarely do and also had a dessert. A soft Chocolate Delice, with a Malt Barley Ice Cream.
Every part of this meal was as good as the one before and I could not fault a thing.
